USB Typewriter

Design Files

HARDWARE:

Here are the design files used for the USB Typewriter.  They should be helpful to anyone assembling a DIY kit (available in my shop), or someone who is going to make theirs from scratch:

Design Files Rev 2.0

SOFTWARE:

You only need this code if you want to make your own chips, or if you want to edit the chip that comes with the DIY kit.  To compile it, you will need to extract RancidBacon's ArduinoUSB_rev004  library into the Libraries directory of the Arduino installation on your computer.  For some reason, it only compiles on Arduino Ver 16 and earlier.

  1. I’d like to purchase a kit as I own a fabulous old typewriter I’d like to mod.
I don’t know the first thing about Arduinos, however, so I’m wondering if I could get my processor chip pre-loaded with code?
I realize this is a special request, but would sure save me a lot of hassle!
    THANKS!

  2. Kevin, All the arduinos come pre-loaded with code. You don’t need to know anything or do anything with microcontrollers, other than just soldering them in place.
