  1. Just In case I left a message directly from email:

Other things that could be done,

is making it sensitive enough for the user to type a key without the use of excessive force
to print a character on screen.

And as a accessory, a typewriter themed keyboard device, with number pad, 24 function keys, CTRL ALT DEL TAB SCROLL LOCK etc, & other keys allowing the user to type all 255 characters Of the ASCII set.

    (My Royal No. 5 doesn’t have a 1 key, I have to type L. )

Attach it to the main device, be able to replace your keyboard entirely.

Something to consider, but I’m serious on making it usable, down to the BIOS level.

As for the Super Keyboard, programmers everywhere will love you forever for it.

My only demand for it is that you build that thing like a typewriter (Pretty & is tough as a Rock)

  2. I just purchased your kit and am excited about the project, looked into the Arduino boards and the language briefly. A couple of quick questions, what’s the best dev board to get for me as a beginner? the Uno? It looks like the language can be done in a procedural fashion, does it support classes too? Saw a neat thing on programming an interface between a controller and an iPhone. Whole new hobby area has opened for me. Thanks!

  3. Hi,

    Very good and brillant idea.

Underwood 5 typewriters are very common (i’ve one since saturday), could you make a special kit fitting this model (azerty if possible) ?

I’m not enough competent in this domain to make it by myself.

    Thanks.

  4. The USB Typewriter includes the function keys like ctrl, alt, and shift. It also uses the carriage return.

  5. Well, you’d have to build a USB “shield” like the one rancidbacon uses, which could plug into the arduino like a shield — unfortunately the Arduino does not support proper USB by itself.
